A Two-Day Workshop on Care, Context, and Ethical Practice

November 14–15

Decolonize Wellness is a two-day, interactive workshop for anyone interested in unpacking cultural appropriation in the wellness space and practicing with greater social consciousness and integrity.

If you have a wellness practice but sense a gap between the benefits of wellness and how it is taught or marketed, if you’ve noticed harm and exclusion but don’t know how to speak up or take action, or if you want your healing practices to be rooted in care, context, and ethical participation, this workshop is for you.

Day One: Shared Language and Historical Grounding

Day One focuses on building shared language and historical grounding. Together, we’ll examine the colonial roots of modern wellness and yoga, explore key social justice concepts, and name how spiritual practices are often commodified under capitalism. Through guided discussion, reflection, and group activities, we’ll explore how power and privilege can show up in wellness spaces, even when intentions are good.

Day Two: Practical Frameworks for Ethical Practice

Day Two shifts into application. You’ll learn practical frameworks you can use the next time you experience or witness disagreement, tension, or discrimination in a wellness space. We’ll cover ethical teaching and participation, common responses when harm arises, and how to move through difficult conversations with clarity, compassion, and responsibility. You will leave with tools and strategies for navigating conflict and speaking up when something doesn’t sit right.

The goal of this workshop is to support wellness spaces that are inclusive for everyone.

No prior experience is required, only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to learn and reflect together.
