Intro to Ayurveda
Feb 21 & 22
Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, is the practice of living in relationship with nature to create balance in the body. Using the principle that like increases like and opposites balance, we’ll explore digestion, seasonal practices, the dosha clock, and abhyanga (Ayurvedic self-massage).
What you can expect
In these interactive workshops, we’ll explore foundational Ayurvedic principles through a modern, approachable lens, including the idea that like increases like and opposites balance.
You’ll learn how to work with digestion as the gateway to vitality, how seasonal practices can support steadiness and resilience, and how the dosha clock (daily rhythm of the doshas) can help you time your habits for better energy and regulation.
Part I (Feb 21, 10am–1pm):
We’ll focus on digestive fire, when and how to cleanse (in a grounded, realistic way), and practical routines that align with circadian and seasonal rhythms.
Part II (Feb 22, 10am–1pm):
We’ll learn abhyanga, Ayurveda’s fundamental self-care practice: self-massage to nourish the skin, stimulate circulation and lymphatic flow, and cultivate a loving relationship with the body.
Each workshop includes learning, discussion, journaling, and a short thematic yogic practice.
$35/workshop | $60 for both workshops
