I Am As We Are: Honouring Lineage Through Movement Weekend Retreat
September 25-27th
A weekend of movement, breath, and guided introspection with Kian Cham, hosted at The Reverie.
Learn to interpret the language of the body alongside the stories we carry through movement and guided introspection. Where do our stories come from? What trajectories are they guiding us toward? Do they align with our values? What might we discover, uncover, or recover when mind and body move in alignment?
Join Kian for a weekend of experiential practices that deepen our capacity to learn from and honour our internal and external relationships: starting with the self (Friday), expanding into our relationships (Saturday), and exploring our time here in this life (Sunday).
This workshop is for people 18+, of any fitness level and all abilities.
Practices include individual, partner, and group work, breathwork, mobility, flexibility, strength, and nervous system training, with modifications available.
Kian Cham is a movement artist and trainer with a background in martial arts, calisthenics, and pole dance. A three-time national karate champion and PanAmerican silver medalist, he has been teaching for over 20 years and has led workshops across BC including at UVIC, Pearson World College, and the Unist’ot’en Camp. His writing appears in Joyful Militancy and Radiant Voices, and he recently completed the poetry and dance short film Injury (2025), exploring pain, adaptation, and living with cervical spinal stenosis.
