Boudoir Portfolio Intensive
May 30
Boudoir Portfolio Intensive is a full-day, small-group experience designed for photographers who want to expand into boudoir (or deepen their approach) with more skill, confidence, and care.
This day retreat will centre on the things that actually change your work: how to see and shape light, how to guide a client through nerves and self-consciousness, how to create images that feel intentional (not accidental), and how to hold boundaries that protect everyone in the room.
We’ll work with natural and ambient lighting and shoot through a variety of boudoir environments, so you leave with varied and strong portfolio images, and a clearer sense of what kind of boudoir photographer you want to be.
This intensive is for you if…
You’re a working photographer (or experienced hobbyist) who knows your camera
You want to add boudoir to your offerings, or refine your approach
You want your images to look more intentional, consistent, and aligned with your vision
You care about client experience, inclusivity, and doing intimate work ethically
What you’ll learn
Technical + lighting
We’ll focus on creating the look you’re after using the light that’s already there, especially natural and ambient light.
You’ll learn how to read window light for direction and mood, how to work with contrast (instead of fighting it), and how to shape light so your images feel intentional and dimensional.
We’ll also troubleshoot in real time and I’ll support you with settings and quick on-the-spot adjustments so you can get back to making the image you meant to make.
The client experience
You’ll see what a boudoir session looks like in my workflow from start to finish, how I open the session, how I guide it, and how I keep it feeling grounded and safe while still creating bold, beautiful images.
We’ll talk through prompts, reassurance, pacing, and consent, including what to say when a client is nervous, self-conscious, or unsure.
You’ll also learn how to respond to insecurities and objections with care (not clichés), and how to use body-positive, inclusive language that feels natural and actually supports the person in front of your lens.
Boudoir asks more of us than technical skill…it requires clear boundaries. We’ll cover how to hold the energy of the room with professionalism and nervous-system awareness, and how to set boundaries that protect you and your clients before, during, and after a session.
We’ll also explore the honest question: should you be a boudoir photographer? and the self-work this genre often requires to show up with integrity. We’ll clarify nudity vs. boudoir, and the wide spectrum of what boudoir can be, so you can find your own lane and serve your clients well.
Boundaries + mental health + self-work
About Brooke
Photographer. Artist. Fire sign. Ocean lover. Moon gazer. Sunset chaser. Mom, Wife, Mimi, and professional hype woman.
I’ve been behind the camera for over 20 years and have spent the last 14 creating deeply personal, empowering boudoir experiences for women who are ready to reconnect with their bodies and see themselves through a lens of love with a little sass.
I believe beauty lives in our imperfections, in the lines we’ve earned, the curves we carry, and the stories our bodies tell. I don’t chase perfection. I celebrate real. The messy. The magical. The moments in between.
